We propose to take advantage of a combination of super-resolution microscopy, electron microscopy, quantitative biochemistry, conventional (biochemical) mass spectrometry, and nanoscale imaging secondary ion mass spectrometry (NanoSIMS) to analyse the average organization of the dendritic spine, and of the postsynaptic density (PSD) at rest, during and after synaptic activity, and, in a subsequent funding period, after plasticity-inducing treatments.
