Our goal is to integrate the experimental data to develop the virtual synapse model (VSM) . The initial version of VSM will model the spatio-temporal dynamics of SV clusters, the recycling, fusion and fission of SVs at the active zone on the presynaptic site, and the dynamics of the postsynaptic density (PSD), AMPA receptors and actins on the postsynaptic site. The VSM software will consist of two core components: i) the Synaptic Dynamics Simulation environment, and ii) the Machine Learning Backbone.
